Roadside north of Vinci, Tuscany.


This was the painting as I took it to yesterday's class and the photo below is of the painting as I left the class. I had not much of an idea where to go from here (above) and I also forgot to take my reference photo and my palette of mixed colours so Elaine came to my rescue. 



I added the same dark as the trees into the stems of the grasses and fiddled about too much with the front row of paler stems.

I still need to darken the grey tree slap bang in the centre of the field horizon as it is too similar a tone to the sky and the dark batch of trees on the left are perhaps too uniformly dark. Do I risk the balance of the painting to add a bit of lighter tone in there? Picture it in your head.
